Lesson 6: Tin Whistle Slip Jigs
Slip jigs are technically not much different than a normal jig. The only real difference is the timing is 9/8 rather than 6/8 which creates a slightly different pulse. Slip jigs on the tin whistle are not played as often as normal 6/8 jigs so you won't have to learn tons of them. However, it's nice to have a couple under your belt.
Fig for a Kiss
This is great slip jig to learn first. It's played by most Irish musicians and its very easy to hear the difference in pulsing compared to a normal 6/8 jig.
