Lesson 6: Tin Whistle D, Whole Notes and 3 Blind Mice
Watch the video lesson below to learn to play Low D on the tin whistle and then try the exercises below. Take your time and double check to make sure you are playing each note correctly before moving on to the next lesson.
D Exercise
This note is a little harder. You will have to make sure to cover all the holes otherwise you will get a bad squeaking noise and remember not to let your fingers get tense.....stay relaxed.
G-F#-E-D Exercise
3 Blind Mice and Whole Note
Yah! your first song. Make sure to hold those D's in bars 2, 4 and 8. They are whole notes and are held twice as long as half notes and 4 times longer than quarter notes. They look like half notes but woth no tail.
Alright now we are getting somewhere, you have learned all the low hand notes and a song you can play for your friends. Give yourself a pat on the back and lets start working on the high hand notes in the next lesson.
